7 – Income from Integral Companies Accounted for Using the Equity Method

Income from integral companies accounted for using the equity method declined from €321 million in the first half of 2021 to €233 million in the first half of 2022.

Of the €88 million decrease, €50 million related to the shareholding in Lucura Versicherungs AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany, due to losses from the measurement of securities and higher net expenses for claims. In addition, the earnings contribution from the shareholding in BASF-YPC Company Ltd., Nanjing, China, declined by €39 million, mainly due to higher raw materials costs and lower volumes.
